Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: A Disney Hollywood Studios Review (2026)

The Muppets have officially taken over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it’s a wild ride. The new version of the attraction, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, features The Electric Mayhem as the headliner instead of Aerosmith, and it’s a refreshing change of pace. Personally, I think the Muppets are a perfect fit for this roller coaster, and the new theming is a welcome addition to the park. The ride is currently going through previews, but officially opens to guests on May 26, and I can’t wait to experience it for myself.

One thing that immediately stands out is the attention to detail in the theming. The courtyard is a vibrant, colorful space with an upside-down car on the head of a long guitar neck, and the signage has been updated to reflect the new Muppets theme. The former KRNR The Rock Station snack kiosk has been transformed into FØØD by Swedish Chef, and the Rock Around the Shop exit gift shop has new signage with Dr. Teeth’s arm pointing to the store. The poster on the building features The Electric Mayhem members in one of the ride’s reimagined limousines, and the style is reminiscent of the former Aerosmith attraction poster.

The queue is also a blast from the past, with new posters inspired by The Electric Mayhem and a series of digital posters in the rotunda featuring the Muppets alongside celebrities like Weird Al Yankovic and Awkwafina. The display case of Muppet props is a highlight, with Kermit’s banjo and Dr. Teeth’s pink top hat and keyboard on display. The pre-show is a fun, energetic experience with The Electric Mayhem rehearsing their original song ‘Can You Picture That?’ from The Muppet Movie (1979), and the animatronic Scooter is a standout feature.

The loading area is a colorful, vibrant space with new props, including a plethora of The Great Gonzo items. The vehicles and ride are a high-speed, thrilling experience with The Electric Mayhem performing one of five songs: ‘Song 2’, ‘Born to be Wild’ ft. Camilla the Chicken, ‘Love Rollercoaster’ ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove, ‘Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)’ ft. Def Leppard, and ‘Walking on Sunshine’ ft. Kelly Clarkson. The on-ride photo is a fun, colorful experience with three frames to choose from.

Overall, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is a fantastic addition to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The attention to detail in the theming, the fun pre-show, and the thrilling ride experience make it a must-do for any visitor. In my opinion, the Muppets are a perfect fit for this roller coaster, and I can’t wait to experience it for myself. What makes this particularly fascinating is the way the Muppets have been seamlessly integrated into the ride, creating a unique and memorable experience. From my perspective, the new theming is a refreshing change of pace and a welcome addition to the park.
